The Bulkhead Barbed Fitting is a pipe fitting specifically designed for routing hoses through equipment panels, enclosures, or bulkheads while providing fixed sealing. Its main structure includes a bulkhead thread section, a locking nut, a sealing gasket, and a barbed hose connection. During installation, only a hole of the corresponding diameter needs to be made on the panel. The thread section of the fitting is passed through the hole, and the nut is tightened from the opposite side to complete the fixing and sealing process.
1. Bulkhead Fixing Structure: The thread section length is adapted to common panel thicknesses. Once the locking nut is tightened, it forms a rigid fixation with the panel, ensuring that the fitting remains secure even under external pulling forces.
2. Barbed Hose Connection: One or both sides of the panel feature barbed tapered teeth for inserting the hose and forming a sealed connection with a hose clamp. The barbed end adopts a double anti-slip groove design, offering significantly higher pull-out resistance than ordinary fittings.
3. Sealing System: Rubber gaskets or O-rings are provided on both sides of the panel. When the nut is tightened, the sealing gasket is compressed, achieving watertight and dust-tight sealing at the panel opening, with a protection rating of up to IP65 or higher.
Installation Method

Step 1: Panel Hole Preparation
Make a corresponding round hole on the panel based on the outer diameter of the thread section. Ensure the hole edge is smooth and burr-free to avoid damaging the sealing gasket.
Step 2: Install the Sealing Gasket
Slide the included EPDM sealing gasket onto the thread section, pressing it against the fitting base. If sealing is required on both sides of the panel, place one gasket on each side.
Step 3: Insert Through the Panel
Insert the thread section into the hole from one side of the panel, ensuring that the fitting base contacts the panel with the sealing gasket in between.
Step 4: Tighten the Locking Nut
Screw the locking nut onto the thread section from the opposite side of the panel, and gradually tighten it with a wrench. Recommended torque: 5–8 N·m for brass materials and 8–12 N·m for stainless steel. Keep the fitting body stationary during tightening.
Step 5: Connect the Hose
Select a specification where the barb outer diameter is 0.5–1 mm larger than the hose inner diameter. Insert the hose vertically onto the barbed end until it reaches the base. For high-pressure applications, use a stainless steel hose clamp and fasten it between the second and third barbs.
Step 6: Seal Integrity Test
Perform a static pressure test at 1.5 times the working pressure. If there is no leakage for three minutes, the installation is qualified.
